This policy describes the current private, local version of Breakout Desk and its public practice pages.

Information used

When the owner starts a research request, Breakout Desk uses YouTube API Services to retrieve publicly available video and channel information. This can include video IDs, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, publication dates, durations, public view counts, and public channel details such as subscriber counts when available. The app records when it observed the data.

The owner can enter search terms, source links, channel preferences, ideas, notes, collections, and expense estimates. These help organize research and prepare original video ideas. The current app does not request a YouTube password, use Google sign-in, upload videos, publish content, sell access, or run paid AI analysis.

Storage and sharing

Practice mode stores synthetic examples and practice edits in this browser's local storage. Real research records are stored in a separate PostgreSQL database on the owner's PC. A shared quota ledger records API request spending. API credentials stay on the server and are not included in exported research backups.

The public information site and synthetic practice copy are delivered through Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes technical web requests; see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. These pages have no customer account or analytics beacon. The public practice copy does not connect to the private research database or YouTube API.

Video thumbnails may load from YouTube's image servers in the private app. Opening a source link takes the owner to YouTube. See the Google Privacy Policy for Google's handling of information. The current app has no customer accounts, advertising, or third-party analytics service.

Retention and deletion

The local app removes YouTube video metadata at 29 days after its last refresh when the library is read. Dated public statistics are limited to 29 days in that process and when imported until YouTube accepts additional derived-metrics and storage terms for this project. A daily independent cleanup is scheduled for 6:00 AM local time, with a catch-up run when the PC becomes available; its initial run succeeded. If those terms are approved, permitted statistical observations and independently calculated metrics may be retained for up to 36 calendar months; other API metadata remains subject to applicable refresh or deletion rules.

User-authored ideas and notes are separate records and can remain until they are deleted or the local database is removed. Practice data remains until browser storage is cleared. Exported research backups can contain YouTube data; old downloaded copies must be deleted or refreshed by the owner. Contact Digital Labs LLC at the address above to request deletion or correction of app-held records. Removing data from Breakout Desk does not delete it on YouTube.

Changes

This policy will be updated before the app's access, data handling, or business model changes. A future customer version will need its own account, consent, deletion, and privacy arrangements.
